i am sad about how totally different ashlee simpson looks, acts, speaks, etc. compared to when she was making the ashlee simpson show. this video is from less than two months ago.
i know it seems like i am obsessed with ashlee simpson again, &i kind of am. hellooooo fifteen year old me.

dear mica photo,
thank you for:
1. not making us mix our own chemicals every single time we want to use the darkroom, &then pour them out as soon as we are done, so that millions of gallons of chemicals don't get wasted, &then clean the trays &the sink with soap &water, &then dry them. even though it makes for a cleaner (&perfect looking) darkroom.
2. having timers in your darkrooms. otherwise everyone just guesses? &then it is impossible to pull the same two prints from exactly the same exposure.
3. teaching/allowing us to agitate the trays in the darkrooms.
4. leaving mat board in the hot presses.
5. not using "the print washer," which is just a stupid plastic contraption &apparently requires A 45 MINUTE WASH, &instead using baths as a final wash.
6. having a squeegee board ¬ making us squeegee our prints on tiny pieces of glass from said print washer, which you have to hold in one hand while you squeegee with the other (what?! least ergonomic practice ever).
7. having a final wash process outside the darkroom, in the light, so that if ever your water bath would overflow into your perma-wash you would be able to tell, as well as print drying cabinets, in the light, not print drying screens IN THE DARK OF THE DARKROOM, so you can't see whose prints you're putting your wet prints on top of.
8. having a color processor that doesn't smell like blood.
this list will grow as i figure out more ridiculous things about the darkrooms at ucd.
they are super clean though &i never ever ever smell chemicals there. it's kinda nice. also my locker is HUGE.
i don't have internet at my apartment but as always i have tons of pictures to edit/post. someday.

now that i am not packing up my whole life &moving or unpacking or packing things back up &moving again or editing for a job, i finally have some time to catch up on photos like these. i have a little apartment behind the capitol &i start class next tuesday &i am generally pretty happy with my decision so far, except that it is weird being back in colorado where there is still like a scene &hardcore bands &stuff? &there is this weird zombie/"pinup"/sometimes combination of the two trend in denver, whaaattt is that? anyway i am happy to be around my friends again.

i am just gonna put this out there, because i am somewhat terrified of the possibility of people having this futuristic technology of being able to tell who looks at their facebook/tumblr/livejournal/myspace/etc. (WHY COULD THIS BE ALLOWED TO HAPPEN?): i spend a whole lot of time on the internet, 1, &2, i am really sneaky, like, used to read my sister's diary when we were younger &will craftily apprehend my friends' phones &read their text messages sneaky. i guess i really like to spy. so, bottom line, if we are friends (obviously) or ever were friends or we dated or i thought you were cute or i thought you were pretty or you make art that i think is neat or we go/used to go to college together, i probably sneak around on your facebook from time to time or catch up on your blog when i'm bored. it's nothing personal, ok? i just like to people-watch &yes, admittedly, snoop. don't hold it against me. if we used to talk &don't anymore, i'm just checkin up on you. &if you somehow find out i stalk you once or twice a week, just take it with a grain of salt.
that being said, i kind of really want to disappear from the internet, baltic included, for a while if not forever :(
on another note, if YOU watch ME, just talk to me! i really like pen-pals &correspondences &i tend to take an interest in almost everyone who approaches me. it's become increasingly important to me to try not to judge. i am really interested in things people do, especially artistically (hence the snooping), so i'd love to just talk about it. i'm certainly not the girl i was in high school or even in the past couple of years, so if you're apprehensive about reconnecting with me in any way, forget about it. i just moved. i'm starting over. i'm happy to make new friends, or old friends even.

i am the happiest i've ever been here when my friends from home are visiting. it's time to go back to colorado.
i am all registered for class at ucd, just need to find a place to live &ship all my things &sell all my furniture here.
i can't wait to have nathaniel with me starting wednesday.
i think when i have some time i need to go through &make all my past entries friends-only. it's weird thinking people can search for me for my photography &potentially find my livejournal from the time i was 14 on D:

i want to go to a school where people genuinely want to help each other, where they stand up &go look at each other's work during critique, where they don't sleep or draw or talk amongst themselves while other people are showing the work they've made, where they listen to the critiques they get &take them to heart &at least consider what's being said, where they "judge" people based on more than who they hang out with &what they do on the weekends, where they know they don't know everything &just want to learn, where they care about anything but themselves.
the art school atmosphere has been a complete disappoint to me.
denver, don't let me down.
