hey guys. i don't have much to say besides i have six weeks left of school/life in baltimore, i will be spending thanksgiving in buffalo, dan is on his way to my house &will be here within a couple of hours, therese will be here on thursday &is staying for the weekend, nathaniel is spending a whole week with me in december, i am feeling soooo sick today even though i was so adamant to NOT get sick this season (nathaniel is sick too, how can boyfriends manage to get you sick through the phone &from 1,600 miles away?), &i have work up on the juried show as well as a solo exhibition until november 14, which you can find out about on my art blog.

watching my boyfriend sleep the other day because he is sick &i have nothing to do at my work study. i just colored my hair &it is getting sooo lonnggg.

so my laptop's hard drive spontaneously crashed last month ¬hing was able to be recovered from it, so i lost everything i'd edited/shot/made since i got to baltimore &started school this semester. i'm bummed i lost all the originals from nathaniel's visit &everything i shot in ocean city/johnstown/pittsburg (ugh ugh ugh) but it's not the end of the world. i also really, really miss having leopard.

i'm leaving for colorado friday for eight days to check out uc denver &cu boulder (&be with nathaniel &dan!). i'm transferring for sure &can't wait to get out of here. i'm bringing a mamiya 7 &a view camera with me &it is already stressing me outtt. why is it so hard to get a three-foot, 20-pound 4x5 tripod across the country via an airplane?

so if you haven't seen the new layout/material on my portfolio website (i would guess this is something like version 4 or 5.0), go check it out because dan &i just finished its final phases of editing a couple of hours ago. i am officially launching it tomorrow but those of you reading my livejournal get a heads up either because you are lurkers &creepily dedicated to me or to following my follies or because you are my livejournal friend, &some of you have been since like 2004.
dan made a beautiful jackalope logo for me (if you have been following baltic since its beginning in 2004, you know it has almost always included a jackalope graphic or two &maybe you even have a first edition jackalope baltic tee) &helped with the coding of the site. i couldn't have done it without him.
i am really, really excited about this portfolio website &finally showing what i feel like is a professional body of work that feels like mine. check it out!!

THREE YEARS!
annual photobooth picture :) taken sometime in july, before i left colorado.

this is the towel cat i made for nathaniel! it has a name tag that says, "you are my very special kitten" (from the science of sleep, naturally).

i call nathaniel my puzzle piece, so i had these charms made for us :) he has the E, i have the N.

nathaniel got me the most amazing present. it's a poesy ring. it says vous et nul autre, "you and no other" in french.

ugghhh i love it so much. it's perfect.

i can't wait til we have an anniversary we can actually spend together! we have never had a one-year in the same state.

i start class tomorrow. i am nervous but i am going to make the most of this semester because i am 90% sure it will be my last at mica. i am taking four photo studios &i'm not sure what else. still have to figure that out.
nathaniel is in photo 1 at boulder. i had him tell me about it because obviously i'd like to know more about the department at the school i'll probably be transferring to. it sounds... ridiculous. if i am disappointed with mica's photo department i will probably die in boulder's. hopefully a lot of my credits will transfer &i can just throw a degree together at boulder in a year &a half. i am concerned.

in other news, i watched seasons 1-4 of the office in less than three weeks, plus season one of the british version. i dream about the characters at night.

i'm just catching up on editing images from this summer since i now have a lot of time on my hands. jenae &i moved in to the new apartment &now she is home &i am alone here with dean. the apartment is really cute, i like it a lot. &i do have a lot to do, i just can't find the motivation. maybe tomorrow i will get most of my sewing projects done. &then i will save my first bike ride for a cooler day. i spent most of today getting little things done/unpacked/moved around &looking around on the internet for inspiration for things i want to make.

dean has been such a sweetheart. he really is one of the best cats. he's been sleeping an awful lot lately, though, which is worrying me. he's suddenly taken to sleeping with me in my bed, he almost never used to. he follows me everywhere &talks to me often. he's such a good boy. i love him.

nathaniel's family is coming to ocean city/virginia beach/williamsburg/dc for a vacation next week. i'm not allowed to go with them (i don't want to talk about it, i am more than upset that my boyfriend will be at a beach three hours away from me &i won't be able to be with him) but nathaniel might extend his stay &come see me for a few days. i am really excited.

well, i missed my flight to baltimore today. because i had dean i wasted 25 minutes standing in the wrong line, then when i was redirected to the right line i was told that i missed the cutoff so my bags couldn't be checked so i would have to carry them on, &that the plane had to close its doors early because another plane was coming in behind it, so naturally when i got to security i got stopped because all my toiletries were in my suitcases that were supposed to be checked, so they just threw everything out, &then about five airport employees stood around the monitor laughing at the fact that i had a foot trap in my suitcase, &then decided amongst themselves whether or not i could bring it with me, so then i ran to my gate, which was at the very end, with a backpack, a cat, &two huge suitcases, only to find out that my plane had left, which was to be expected. i had a bad feeling about it from the start anyway.
so dean &i have been camped out at nathaniel's in boulder. we are trying the same flight again tomorrow morning.

nathaniel &i found a 2-pack of polaroid film at a thrift store, then we took 20 polaroids in one day. they are

sitting right next to each other, the other day.
